Dr. Alexandra “Alex” Masek is a Pennsylvania native, born and raised in Erie, PA. Dr. Masek earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Life Science, with a minor in Business Administration from Penn State University. She graduated with honors and was named Student Marshall, a title awarded to the student with the highest GPA in their major. Dr. Masek earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. There she served as class Vice President for four years, among other leadership roles and organizations.
After graduating from Dental School, Dr. Masek completed a General Practice Residency (GPR) at the Clemente Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI. During her GPR, she received advanced training in prosthodontics (crowns, bridges, partials and dentures), endodontics (root canals), implants, surgeries (extractions and grafting), and sedation dentistry. At the VA, Dr. Masek became experienced in hospital dentistry, managing patients with complex medical histories in collaboration with their medical doctors and specialists.
Following residency, she lived and practiced as a General Dentist in Milwaukee, WI then moved to Pittsburgh, PA where she lived and practiced for several years. During that time, Dr. Masek was trained by the American Academy of Facial Esthetics and became a certified Esthetic Injector. She enjoys incorporating esthetic and therapeutic Botox treatments and dermal fillers into her practice.
She is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Society and the American Academy of Facial Esthetics. Dr. Masek is passionate about life long learning and is committed to continued education. She is actively involved in the ADA and local dental societies, while also regularly attending dental continuing education courses. She is currently undergoing further training with Alma, Inc. to provide even more esthetic treatment options for her patients.
Dr. Masek is dedicated to providing quality, ethical, and esthetic dental care for her community. She enjoys providing comprehensive treatment for patients of all ages, utilizing all facets of dentistry. She is passionate about collaborating with dental specialists and medical doctors to ensure the best possible experience and treatment for each patient, while maintaining an exceptional standard of care. The aspects of dentistry that Dr. Masek loves the most are the opportunities to cultivate long term relationships with patients and to leave them a bit better than they were before. She strongly believes in empowering patients to take control of their health with evidence-based education and bodily autonomy.
Dr. Masek is a big believer in chasing your dreams. Pursuing a longtime dream, she recently moved to Chicago to live and practice. She is delighted to be in Chicago, and have the opportunity to serve a community she loves so much.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Masek enjoys exploring the city of Chicago, trying new restaurants and venues, and supporting her local community. She loves to stay active and is an avid sports enthusiast. Her favorite activities include skiing, golfing, hiking, swimming, reading and attending sporting events. Dr. Masek loves to travel, and visit new cities and countries. She loves experiencing different cultures, learning about their traditions, and trying their food. Dr. Masek loves to participate in local Chicago events. She believes in the importance of volunteering, giving back and being involved in her community.
